Barangay Calunacon was established on July 18, 1961 and one of the barangay having the largest number of population in the municipality having the population of 1,707 people with 425 household.

Barangay Calunacon has a total land area of 772.72 hectare, where 309.88 hectare used in agriculture, (hectares) in residential, 309.88 hectare is timberland and 152.96 hectares are alienable and disposable land (A and D).

The barangay is located in the north part of the municipality province of Romblon. It is 1-3 kilometers away from city/municipal hall and it takes 3-5 minutes to reach the barangay hall. It is accessible by land transportation. It is bounded on the north by Brgy. Linawan on the east; Brgy. Pag-alad on the west Tablas Strait, and on the South by Brgy. Poblacion.
